I don’t know why everyone talks about the one monitor limit. It’s not some insurmountable problem. I use an Mac Mini M1 with not one, not two, but two monitors plus a Kamvas 16 which is basically a third monitor that you can write on and if I really want to I can throw my ipad in the mix for a total of four. Yes, you need DisplayPort or DisplayLink adapters but it’s not like it’s impossible.

I remember visiting the British Library and seeing George Eliot’s hand-written manuscript for the gazillion page Middlemarch. Total respect. It may take a long time, but hand writing or manually typing is a great way to write creatively. I don’t think I’d write technical manuals by hand, but there’s something better, something creative about noodling by hand. I write creative essays on my dad’s Smith Corona Sterling from 1954. Less stopping and starting. Fewer cuts and pastes. Blessedly, no autocorrect! I transfer them over to digital formats eventually, but the wonderful creative time happens offline.

i don't get it. why didn't you just use your design with a magnetic usb-c adapter/cable. same principle as the wireless charger. charge it when you're not using it

Dont understand why you wouldn't try the logic mx ergo mouse with its trackball. seems like a more natural change from where you are to trackball and being an owner of one I can say confidently that the transition to that being controllable with the thumb and the same usual fingers clicking buttons its much easier to get a hang of

Gaah! It's not a typewriter. It's a bluetooth keyboard. If you've ever used an actual typewriter, you know that the typing experience is utterly different and you'd never equate the two.

Honestly I love the magic mouse. I also have a fancy mouse for gaming on my PC, but I choose to still use my magic mouse on my mac. My only complaint is the lack of ability to charge while using it. I have decently large hands (L or XL gloves usually) and even using it for 8+ hours per day for years doesn't cause me any issues. I grip the mouse with my thumb, ring and pinky while my index and ring kind of float over the touch surface. To me this is comfortable. However for me the biggest plus is the touch surface. I wish there were dozens of 3rd party options on the market that utilized this feature and innovated on it. In audio or video software having a 2D surface to scroll around on is absolute game changing.

Yeah well I like all of this BUT, the battery of the mouse lasts so long that it isn't really a problem. Just plug it in every once a month and you're good to go.(and yes I use it a lot as I do daily design work).

Not sure what the appeal of this now that ChatGPT 4o is out. I can just hit a button on my phone and talk to ChatGPT and tell it to summarize the things I’m saying. And there is no transcription by minutes, it’s a fixed subscription cost. Granted I can’t have a two hour discussion transcribed or record a call, but perhaps that is the one use case for this.

Hi are there any issues with charging the camera batteries upright in the time you’ve used the setup? Do the connectors not contact as well vs regular orientation? I assume most chargers are designed for laying flat on a surface. Thank you!

It's absolutely worth sticking with the split keyboard to get used to it IMO. I have a Sofle split which is pretty much the same as that one. Took a while tweaking the layout of the additional layers before I was happy with them, I printed out a layout of the keys while I got used to them but it's natural to me now.
